Accessorize Charitably
Look good whilst doing some good. Not a bad idea.
The Caliber Collection is the brain child of Newark's supermayor, Cory Booker and Jewelry For a Cause. These fierce bracelets are made from guns and bullets which have been seized by the Newark Police Department. Each has the serial number of the gun from which it was made and the proceeds benefit the Gun Buyback Amnesty program in Newark.
100% of the proceeds from the Diamond Waterdrop Bracelet by Kwiat go to Charity : Water, a non profit organization which helps bring clean, safe, and sustainable drinking water to developing nations.
The Green Bracelet by the Simmons Jewelry Company supports the Diamond Empowerment Fund working to foster education initiatives in diamond producing countries.
Proceeds from The Open Heart Necklace by Alex Woo go directly to the Women's Cancer Research Fund
The Project Paz Woven Bracelet by Sara Beltran helps strengthen children's development in Ciudad Juarez by donating 100% of its proceeds to the FECHAC Foundation.
Lovely, am I right? I've got my eyes on the Caliber Collection bracelet but they all are wonderful. Would make great gift with some meaning behind it as well.

Jewelry Organization
That moment when you find something you hadn't worn in ages and didn't even remember you owned. I always go immediately Gollum, excited at finding my preeeecious. What about you? My Gollum impression is then followed by annoyance at the lack of organization with my jewelry. So next year I'm going to have to work on this. Here are a few ideas.
I love apothecary jars in the kitchen, and here they are really doing a sweet job of displaying bangles and bracelets. Below are two affordable options.
These stacking trays do the trick when you have a big collection and limited space. I like the idea of having a view of whats inside without having everything out on display. The Container Store has tons of options and sizes, including the ones above.
Show off the baubles with some jewelry stands. Get yours here.
Up-cycle old mismatched plates or teacups for smaller pieces.

Dessert stands and vintage-esque frames are easy to find and work with the clutter for a shabby chic look.
Sort itty bitty earings and studs with porcelain water color palettes. Find them at art stores or here. (only $4.42!)
So how do you keep the jewels organized?

Delicate & Delightful
Now I love a big honking cocktail ring as much as the next girl, but lately delicate tiny stacking rings have been catching my eye. There is something very sweet and understated about these rings, worn alone or in a stack. Here are my favorites from Etsy.

Etsy Spotlight: Druzy Making Me Woozy
Oy Vey. Can't even deal with these Druzy works of art. I was actually pondering our mutual obsession of all things bright and shiny with a bestie this weekend. Then happened upon a History Channel show on alchemy and ancient European's obsession with the sorcerers stone and other shiny objects. The narrator literally said that ancient europeans were fascinated with staring into shiny stones hoping to unveil mysteries. Now I know where I come from. So there's that.
Here are few pieces from Etsy I am coveting.

So click away and support these talented designers.
